Description

This arrangement of BWW 608 follows almost exactly the four original voices from the double canon. It is not difficult to play technically but the rhythm is challenging as you have sections of 9 against 6. Bach’s original time signature was 3/2 with the counter rhythm in 6/4, I changed this to 9/8 making the triplets easier to read but leaving an anomaly of a dotted quaver for the sections in 6. This is really a question of feel rather than counting so don’t let it throw you. The double canon comprises Guitar 1 and Guitar 4 against Guitar 2 and Guitar 3 each at the separation of a bar.
